It was a nice dry day for the Pairs Relay, and some very fast times were done on the totally flat one lap course. The format this year was for each team to do as many laps as they could in one hour, and this was well received as everyone finished at more-or-less the same time.
The power of chip timing allows the results to be interpreted in a number of different ways:
- Without taking age or gender into account, the winners were Toby and Jake of BVR, who did an impressive 18 laps. They were followed by Denis and Nicky of DMV with 16 laps. The full set of overall results, which also show every lap time of every team, are here.
- If we group the teams by gender (MM, MF, FF), then the MM winners are Toby and Jake (BVR), the MF winners are Denis and Nicky (DMV), and the FF winners are Pauline and Petra (DMV). Full results by gender are here.
- The fastest lap times in each gender category were done by:
- MM: Toby and Jake (BVR, 2:55)
- MF: Denis and Nicky (DMV, 3:40)
- FF: Pauline and Petra (BVR, 4:25)
- Finally, there are some age graded results. These look at a teams total time then this is adjusted to take into account age, gender, and the number of laps run. Full results are here.
Many thanks to Ken for organising the event, marking out the course, etc. Chip timing was provided by BVR.
