Some really impressive times in the 2021 Surrey Slog – with Thunder and Lightning forecast the heavy rain actually held off on the day, allowing a cooler event than previous years, the results show some amazing times.
Thank you John Hogg, Ken Saunders, all the marshals, helpers, timers and of course runners who make the Surrey slog a great event , COVID measures were put in to help runners stay safe. with the bespoke medal a hit.
What runners said
Second time I’ve done the Slog and it was brilliant yet again. The course markings are second-to-none. Absolutely brilliant. And SIX water stops on a half is fantastic (I know you kinda cheated cos it’s the same ones at the repeated cross-over points but that’s just clever planning!) The Covid-safe arrangements for this year were good, the 2-minute staggered start perfect. And how many happy, helpful and encouraging marshals??? More than the number of runners? A special thank you to all of them manning their posts all morning in the rain. Thank you, thank you, thank you. LONG LIVE THE SLOG!!!
First time I’ve done this and absolutely loved it. Even I didn’t get lost. Loads of lovely marshals and water table. Just a little rain that just cooled things down and didn’t detract from the enjoyment.
Well done. Great organisation in difficult times. The many marshals were wonderful and despite the awful forecasts even the weather was kind to us. Thank you.
Great race thanks so much
